We had the privilege of hosting our poverty simulation workshop for the S6 students of Ying Wa Girls’ School. Students were engaged in the fun and interactive roleplay. Our trainers and guest from the Gambia prompted students during the discussion and sharing session. Students reflected on their emotions and experiences in the roleplay and started to genuinely recognize the intersectionality between poverty and other social issues.
The workshop was a huge success as students began to understand the deeper conditions behind poverty and gained empathy for those living in poverty.
