ICE was fortunate to work with Shatin Methodist College for implementing Learning across Curriculum (LaC) and Reading across Curriculum (RaC) by running a project for all S.5 students on Sustainable Development Goals and TED style presentation delivery.
- Students learned storytelling and advanced presentation skills, while researching sustainable development.
- They had the opportunity to meet young changemakers who are actively addressing social or environmental issues and later
- developed their own TED style presentations based on their research findings and individual passions.
This programme successfully combined peer learning, cross-curricular research into social sciences, use of technology as well as oral presentation skills while stimulating the students’ curiosity in meeting various inspirational young leaders.
We hope we have more chances of bringing innovative LaC activities to Hong Kong classrooms!
