CORE TEAM

FREDDY LAW – Founder

Freddy Law is the founder and chairman of ICE. His idea of empowering local ethnic minority in becoming intercultural trainers for education has won him the champion of Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge 2010 and PolyU Micro Fund for Entrepreneurship 2013. Freddy was recognised for the Young Social Entrepreneur Award 2011 in Hong Kong and was selected as ECSEL fellow 2012, which brought him to exchange his insights with students and professionals from Harvard, Stanford and Yale University. Passionate in nurturing the ecosystem of social enterprise sector, he co-founded Social Investment Club in 2010-2012. He also works part-time as an entrepreneur in Education for Good for young social entrepreneurship programmes in The University of Hong Kong and social enterprise start-up consulting projects with NGOs. Freddy is also a columnist who writes about social innovators for the Hong Kong Economic Journal. Before he founded ICE, he worked in Google’s Asia Pacific Headquarter in Hyderabad, India. He graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Zhejiang University with a degree in Communications and Management.

TILL KRAEMER – Co-Founder and General Manager

Born in Germany and graduated with a master’s in mathematics and Computer Science from Oxford University, Till has engaged in youth work and projects in 10+ countries from 2007. As ICE’s main trainer and General Manager, Till educated and trained youth from 100+ countries in international conferences, and was invited as TEDx speaker on multiple occasions and co-organised a social innovation conference in UN’s Geneva office. With 10 years of experience as a trainer and public speaker, and 8 years of experience running and growing a social enterprise, Till can combine insights from the world of youth training and non-profits as well as the social business sector in Hong Kong.

JEY CHAN – Programme Manager

Born and raised in Singapore, Jey Chan has had experiences in a few remarkable places: from undergoing military training at the desert of Jhansi, India to teaching English in the high mountains of Kyrgyzstan. Since joining ICE in 2014, he has managed hundreds of events as Programme Manager with 50+ educational institutions. As a key trainer in ICE, he has also given several speeches (including TEDx talks) in Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Taiwan on education and culture. He is concurrently serving as a Youth Startup Support Coordinator with the United Nations Development Programme, helping to match promising startups in APAC region with funding opportunities and mentorship from the Citi Foundation.

AGGIE LAM – Operations Manager

Hong Kong native Aggie graduated with a Neuroscience degree from King’s College London and a MSc in Food Science, Nutrition and Technology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Having worked with people from more than 80 countries and 30,000 local students, she understands how powerful face-to-face communication can be. Aggie is the Operations Manager of ICE and has managed all major internally record-breaking projects of this organisation. Aggie is also the co-founder of Dear Hong Kong, a photo book project that aims to promote our city’s cultural diversity and the collective contributions of Hongkongers.

VERENA WONG – Marketing Communications Manager

A graduate from Lingnan University, Verena majored in marketing and nurtured under liberal education. She has been exposed to many global learning opportunities and has travelled to Taiwan and Spain for voluntary services and internships after graduation. Verena has experience in marketing for a large logistics firm and is currently an instructor of STEM courses in several schools. She is glad to contribute her knowledge and skills of marketing to ICE to promote cultural learning.

GUSTAV JOHANSSON – Adviser

Originating from the Arctic north of Sweden, raised under the midnight sun and the northern lights, Gustav embraces cultural understanding and the importance of making friends across the borders. He has a degree in International Administration from Linnaeus University in Sweden and a post graduate diploma in European politics from University of Iceland. After working many years with a multitude of cultural exchange programs with target groups ranging from exchange students to immigrants, Gustav is now working at the Swedish School in London.

SHARMAKE BASHIR – Adviser

Sharmake completed his undergraduate degree in Computer Science at the University of the People. Travelling at a young age made him curious to see the world differently, his dreams are to build a bridge between people in different parts of the world including his home nation Somalia. Sharmake speaks multiple languages and educated the public through his tales of living in a country with no government for more than a decade. He is currently the Co-Ordinator at Africa Center Hong Kong – a platform that fosters value-creating interactions between African and non-African communities in Hong Kong.
